TESTIMONIALS!!!
Testimonial to our latest wedding, Pocasset MA, September, 2009:
"We booked The Bluegrass Invitation Band for our backyard wedding on the Cape. It was one hell of a night and definitely a party to remember. As fate would have it, Hurricane Bill came ashore that night but the band played on....
Charlie and the boys were professional and accomodated every request we had. They even managed to learn a couple of songs we asked for on short notice. They brought a great sound system, setup quick, and came prepared to play. All we had to provide was a power outlet.
Booking the band was one of the best ideas we had for our wedding. Everyone loved the live music. Many of our guests said it was the best wedding (and party) they have ever been to and The Bluegrass Invitation Band was a huge part of the night. There is absolutely no way a DJ could have created an atmosphere close to what we had. Watching your family and friends cut loose and dance to great bluegrass music beats the YMCA any day.
If you are thinking about booking this band for your wedding, do it. If you think this testimonial is made up, get my email address from Charlie and I'll be happy to talk to you."

Testimonial to a Newport Wedding, Summer of 2009
Alyssa and I were so lucky to have found Bluegrass Invitation Band. Or, rather lucky that they found us. We had posted an ad on Craigslist looking for a band for our wedding. After many bizarre responses from what seemed like cast offs from the Gong Show, Charlie emailed us and let us know about Bluegrass Invitation Band. Alyssa and I went to their website to check them out. I still remember how Alyssa's face lit up as soon as we heard a sample. Skilled musicians with a devotion to bluegrass music that came across in the warmth of their playing.
Originally, Alyssa and I were looking to have them play the processional and recessional as well as accompany our friend who was going to sing during the ceremony. Ours was very much a DIY, budget-conscious affair. However, Charlie was able to exceed our needs. After hearing their rates we were able to have them play the cocktail hour as well.
The band members went beyond the call in everything they did. They met with our friend after playing one Sunday morning on the Cape to rehearse the song she was to sing during the ceremony. As well they provided a recording of them playing the song so she could practice along before the wedding. As well, they had not played our choice for the recessional before — The Beatles' "Two of Us" — but took the time to learn and arrange it for their instruments.
The day of our wedding was much more dramatic than either Alyssa or I expected. A tropical storm swept through Newport the day before and the entire day of the wedding. The parking lot flooded where the caterers worked in six inches of water. A major route to the wedding venue was closed due to flooding. However, all the band members showed up well before the ceremony and were able to set up unhurried. They were so calm as I ran around making sure all our other vendors had what they needed.
The rain broke a half hour before the ceremony and we were able to have the wedding on the beach as planned. I will always remember walking down the dune with my wife to the Bluegrass Invitation Band's beautiful rendition of "Two of Us".
Testimonials to two of our wedding performances in the Summer and Fall of 2008:
"Bluegrass Invitation played at our wedding in December '08, and it was a great experience. It was a small wedding at an Inn on Boston's North Shore. We found the band on the internet, they sounded good, and they were easy to make arrangements with, so we decided to hire them. And we were not disappointed. The music was really great. We asked for more instrumental songs before dinner, and more rollicking tunes for after dinner, and the band graciously obliged. They played well beyond the time frame we discussed, their price was reasonable and they were polite. But the best part was their music. We would highly recommend them to anyone.

"Charlie and his band didn’t just play at our reception in Little Compton, RI, August of '08. They set the tone for the most memorable night of our life! We wanted our event to be both relaxed and energetic, and bluegrass was perfect. The band members were all incredibly talented and accommodating – whether the request was for a particular song or for a party member to join in, they were happy to oblige. I don’t plan on getting married again, but if I did, I’d call Charlie!
