Another Venue, Another Show
Stinky Pete's 11/23/07

Frank, Charlie ,Bud and Pete back up Gail Dayton.

Gail and Steve Dayton of Back Eddy Bluegrass joined us on stage for a great sound.

Charlie, Pete, Ben and John crankin' out a tune with Bud and Frank off camera.

Rocky Dionne just before joining us on stage.

A nice couple joins us for Bluegrass music.

More bluegrass fans at Stinky Pete's.

Pete and Ben workin' hard

Rocky and Cheryl  after Rocky's set with us. Everybody enjoyed his songs.

Joh and Steve hardly workin'.

Karen, Cynthia and Maggie right after Maggie Moniz's set. Maggie  blew everybody away with her cajun / French bluegrass...she is awsome! And dances good, too.

The stage was getting crowded so Charlie took a break.

Alicia dances with a young man. It's so nice to watch folks dance to our music. Charlie observes with interest.

John's photo computer enhanced like a painting...He's no Mona Lisa but he fiddles pretty good!
CANTAB February '07

Glenn Sampson had some new strings on his newly renovated Gibson Mastertone Banjo...the strings did what all new banjo strings did and he had a dickens of a time getting them to act right. However, once they got adjust ed to the new string tensons and the heat (boy was it hot on stage) Glenn sarted creating some very hot sounds on the banjo. You might say it was "smokin" hot..
First Night Newport 06

Fiddler John and Glenn start smokin' the tunes as the New Year approaches.

Young Sam and his lady friend prove that they can be a part of anybody's Review! George C. supports them with a smooth banjo, and Bert L. fills in the quiet places with his dobro.

From Left to right Jim P. from Jamestown, George C. on banjo,  Bert L., Pete Gallant on Mando, Bud Smith and Roblie, Donnie R. and Charlie Santos fill up the back row. Not much room betwwen us!
First Night Newport '05

Pete, Charlie and John at the Murray Courthouse, last New Year's Eve's Bluegrass First Night in Newport Rhode Island.
Assorted Bluegrass Fans

Sky's dobro and Frank's guitar add a special touch to an afternoon at Bud's.

Charlie's firstborn, Becky checks out the bluegrass scene. That's a proud papa!

Charlie C.,  Bob and Carl make it sound the way it's supposed to be.

At The Narrows Center for the Performing Arts in Fall River, Massachusetts. Always a place to come to hear the best of Bluegrass, Blues and Folk , with performing artists from throughout the nation.

Dave Horne, Charlie and Bill B. At the Narrows.
Dartmouth Blowout 2006

Fiddler John saws off another toe tapper and looks jealous  as someone else drinks the beer! That's Dave Horne and Don Rozinha playing along with us.
Bud's Barn

The musicians aren't the only antiques at Bud's Barn.

John says the mandolin is set up just like his fiddle, so he plays the mandolin with no hesitation to prove his point.

Charlie's Fender banjo played alright but lacked the ring of his next instrument...a Deering.

Two finer friends a man canot have, Bud and Robie.

Robie's home cooking adds much to our Sundays at Bud's Barn and John takes a back seat to no man when it comes to eating .

At Bud's barn, the circle remains unbroken.

Frank is a well known singer-songwriter with a great bluegrass background. It's a pleasure to accompany him.
In the summertime there's usually  a jam at Bud's barn weekends in Westport Ma. Maybe you'll be lucky enough to get an invitation from Bud himself to come on down and enjoy the atmosphere.

Meanwhile , from Memorial Day to Labor Day there is an open jam each Wednesday night  at Westport Ma. Town Pier and Boat Dock. Music is played right down on the docks where fishing boats have tied up for the night and the place turns lively under the dock lights and the reflected starlight of the Westport River. You'll hear everything from Bluegrass to Cajun to old timey tunes. ! You are all invited to play along or just to bring a folding chair, some bug spray and a sweatshirt.  Just kick back. The tunes will do the rest..

Did you know that  the first letters of Bluegrass Invitation Review, BIR,   can be pronounced "BEER"  as in We Want More BEER! ?
